What to Wear – Christmas Party

For many, Christmas brings a spirit of gratitude and reflection on the blessings of Jesus Christ’s birth.  And who can avoid the steady stream of commercial after commercial promising the biggest discounts and the best gift guides; all of which remind us of our pursuit for the perfect Christmas gift.  If you’re like me, and you tend to treat yourself to an item on your personal wishlist around this time of year, at the very least, you want to make it count.  Here are four fall closet classics that you will wear now and for seasons to come.

First is a pair of great fitting jeans.   A comfortable pair of jeans that you look great in goes a long way.  Look for mid-high waist jeans {LIKE THESE} to disguise that pesky muffin top region.  Find denim with minimal stretch (2% or less) if you want to mask a pear shape.  If you’re looking for plus size denim, check out Torrid.com for some really great options and prices.

Second, find a few really cool logo tees.  Logo tees are great year-round worn with a suit to work, jeans to run errands, leggings for a quick workout or a skirt for date night.  Shops like www.God-Can.com offer tees {LIKE THIS ONE} and hoodies {LIKE THIS ONE}with a cool Christian message, which tends to be a great conversation starter.

Third, find something…anything…in navy.  Consider it the new black because you’ll have lots of fun with it.  For Fall, navy and green is always chic as is navy and cream.  An added benefit of navy is it has all the sliming qualities as black, but it’s not as serious.

Last, your coat is one of the last things you grab when dashing out the door, so find one that’s practical with your lifestyle but makes a statement.  For example, if your life consists of running from point A to point B, in a baseball cap and tennies, maybe a chic varsity jacket {LIKE THIS ONE} will add that stylish vibe you want.  If you’re more of the office lifestyle, a camel hair trench coat in a soft color [LIKE THIS ONE} may be up your alley.

Whatever the occasion classic pieces like these are closet staples that’ll add just that pinch of chic-ness to your wardrobe.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season!

Okay girls, guys, whomever, [my husband], if you’re trying to find that perfect gift for that stylish girl [me]  in your life, look no further.  I have found one of THEE best websites know to woman!  No joke.  It’s called SheInside.com .    The styles on this site are super on trend and incredibly reasonably priced.  I mean just look at the 5 items I found above.  Who doesn’t need a new skirt, clutch, jeans, blouse and shirt.  HELLO!
Any time I find a site that seems too good to be true I look for the following…
1. Does the boutique ship to the U.S. at a reasonable cost?
SheInside.com overs free worldwide shipping!!!  WHAT!
2. Are the prices in U.S. dollars?
3.  What’s the return policy?
If you’re not 100% satisfied with the quality of your purchase, you can return or exchange your items within 30 days  from the delivered date.
I don’t know about you but to me that’s pretty standard and what I’m used to when I shop online.  So, you’re probably saying that I’m getting paid to tell you this.  NOPE, I’m not.  I didn’t get free clothes and I didn’t get a check.  I’m just sharing because, well, I would want you to share with me if you found and awesome site like this.  LOL!  Seriously thought, you already know I’m very serious about the integrity of my blog and I don’t write about anything I don’t honestly believe in or like.  So, take a peek.  I promise you won’t be disappointed!
Tell me, what’s your favorite item from Sheinside.com?

FASHION DU JOUR loves: Dr. Martens

For the longest, I’ve wanted a pair of Dr. Martens.  And no, they’re not only for the grunge or goth chicks.  They’re such an easy way to add a cool hip vibe to your ensemble.  If I had to choose my favorite from the ones I found above, I’d have to go with the black studded boots.
Were you ever into Dr. Martens?

I could lie and say it’s because I work out so much that my feet just crave a soft cushioned shoe but…then I’d be lying.   So, let’s just blame it on pregnancy.  But for whatever reason, I’ve become OB.SESSED with low top tennis shoes lately.   I want them all!
What’s a fairly random fashion obsession you’ve been preoccupied with lately?

What was…

I’ve come to realize that the problems we have with others {our spouse, parents, siblings, etc. } don’t really have much to do with them at all.  Because many of the problems we think we have with them we subconsciously created in our own mind.  Maybe they did something in the past that touched on one of our fears or insecurities.  Or maybe they didn’t do something that we expected them to do.  In either case, problems like these are not about the other person, they’re about us.

And that’s okay.  It simply means these little predicaments will be easier to solve.   We are, after all, in charge of our own decisions.  We get to decide whether we want to keep our head cluttered with events from the past, or instead open our minds to the positive realities unfolding in front of us.

All we need is the willingness to look at things a little differently – letting go of ‘what was’ and ‘what should have been,’ and instead focusing our energy on ‘what is’ and ‘what could be possible.’
