Guest Blogger: Karen of Your Stylist Karen

We’re on a roll!  Karen is our next guest blogger and while I’ve met many bloggers through the Bloggers Like Me group, I’ve been blessed to know Karen since before I began that group.  She lives in DC.  It’s no wonder I fell head over heels for Karen, she practices mental health counseling! lol She also runs her own jewelry business, Stella & Dot.  When she’s not blogging and working you can find her hoping around the country enjoying life with her husband.

Great Expectations

KNOW THAT IT IS OKAY TO DESIRE MORE:

Even if everyone around you is settling, you don’t have to.  Want to go apply for a new job? Do it!  Want to do something unexpected?  Plan for it!  Give yourself permission to change who you are, how you are, or what you do.  It could potentially be the very thing that adds to the richness of your life and possibly change you for the better!

ASK YOURSELF QUESTIONS THAT ENCOURAGE SELF DISCOVERY:

Powerful questions are often simple questions.  Think of something new you would be interested in trying, and then ask yourself, “What would I have to do? Who could help me? When could I act on it?

DON’T LET YOUR PAST DICTATE YOUR FUTURE:

Different seasons of life bring new dreams and therefore new goals. How will you choose to be a “goal getter”?  If you’ve failed in the past or made mistakes, dust yourself off and move forward  Ask yourself, “What did I learn?” and “What do I want to do differently going forward?”

ACT:

Make a move by sharing your goal with someone so that you stay accountable.

Remember to have Great Expectations for the year ahead!!

Stop by my blog and let me know what you have planned!

  1. Karen is another blogger who reaches across the web and caresses your heart with her warm but very motivating words! Since meeting Karen through the group, I’ve felt like I’ve going a fellow sister in Christ who has such a heart to see people excel and reach their goals. Although my time is held up, I’m encouraged to NOT bury the dream!!

  2. Great advice, as always Kar*! “DON’T LET YOUR PAST DICTATE YOUR FUTURE” A wise person once told me that you cannot trip up on your past if you’re looking forward…I believe it!
