A friend of mine is moving to Seattle and in the process of moving out she’s found herself with all kinds of great decor pieces with no home. I I begged came to the rescue and offered to take a bulk of her stuff. She was so generous in giving it to me so who was I to say no. I’m so lucky! One of the items she gave me was a colorful canvas bag with a neon speckled red swatch of cotton fabric on it. It screamed “SUMMER!” I loved the bright summer fabric and knew that it would go perfectly with some of the items in my wardrobe. While I had been playing with other DIY ideas for one of those days when the kids take longer naps than normal, I couldn’t pass this one up. I had to do it, now. It ended up taking no time at all. I actually made it on my lunch break. Here’s what I made and how:
{Oh and I’ve been trying this new red lipstick and, well, the jury’s still out.}
I make jewelry and recycling is the best.

Les!!! I love love love the look! I think the red lip adds a lil umph! You better work it girl! 🙂
Gracias, Mar! Your red lips make me think I can pull off the red lip look too. LOL
You unlocked the code. I always wondered how people would make earriings like these and sell them. I will give it a try. Thanks…..
HAHAHAHA! SUPER easy! You can use old table cloth, fabric napkins, lace doilies (that might be really cute) wall paper, contact paper (would be super easy) the possibilities are endless.
Super cute! And that was easy. Now I’m going to find some old earrings and see what I can do to spice them up.
TONS OF POSSIBILITIES right in your own home. You don’t even have to leave the house.
AWESOME! Can’t wait to try this out with some of the fabric and older earrings just sitting… waitin for me to do something with.
iHEART your look! The red lipstick is totally FAB on you. Diggin the polish colour and the hair- which is exactly how I’m wearing mine right now 😉 #hairtwins *hehehe*
Great post!
HAHAHA! I’d love to see what you come up with! 🙂
I don’t typically do lips, but I figured the pants are so bright they might tone down the lip. LOL NOT! I love wearing my hair like this. It makes me feel like my face looks thin. One chin not two. LOL
You are AWESOME when it comes to DIY! and I love that red lipstick. It looks great on you!! 🙂
Thanks girl. I can’t even think straight trying to figure out how to wear the style challenge items thanks to you! LOL
I love these, and how simple they are to make!! Thank you, once again for your awesome DIY tips!!
I love you Momma Sharon! You bring so much happiness to my life, truly!
The red lip is gorgeous!
Thanks Ebs! I took a page from your book! 🙂
But I’m sad you covered up those awesome earrings. 😦
You know, I really tried to like them. I would put them on almost daily, but they just didn’t hang right. I can’t put my finger on exactly what the problem was, they were just wrong. LOL
How pretty do you look. I love your hair, the lipstick and the earrings. Fab darling.
Awww Sing, you’re sweet! I don’t remember the last time I wore red lipstick in public. Well, period.
I love it. I have tons of fabric scraps that I can’t bear to part with. This is great!
Tell me about it. I have so many earrings from the 90s that I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing! LOL
Tell me about it. I have so many 90’s earrings that I’ll NEVER wear again. BTW, your Queen is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. I covered some earrings and a bracelet last night. I’m going to post it.
HOW COOL! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE!
I’m all over this! I can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner to put to use the orphaned earrings I have lying around.
LOL…I’m beginning to feel like my DIY’s should be called “jimmy rigs” because I just pull stuff out of no where and get my McGyver on and call it a DIY. LOL
