I’m not sure why I posted this quote, but I feel like when it comes to relationships, many of us women get hung up on the idea of what could have been. We fall in love with what we thought we could have had. We mistake learning experiences for lost opportunities. We even say to ourselves things like, “he wasn’t that bad”, “it only happened once”, “he said he’d never do it again”, as if those statements would magically reverse the anguish and pain we endured.
We will all experience relationships where we think he is the icing to our cake, the fruit to our roll up, the pep to our step and we’ll rack our brains trying to pinpoint what went wrong when the relationship “fails”. And guess what, it’s natural to think these thoughts. It’s when we fail to realize {or we just ignore}, that the relationship served it’s purpose, that we get ourselves into trouble.

I’ve dated a nice guy or two who had talked the talked but not committed to walking the walk. I came to the realization if he ain’t willing to park long term on whatever he arrives in, it would be best to keep it moving. I am not a drive thru! Keep us single ladies thinking smart. That’s like those relationships that give the appearance that everything is perfect. I’ve found out you have to watch that. Don’t believe them.

Hmm. “If a train doesn’t stop at your station, then it’s not your train.” Wow. That really resonate with me. There are many women who blame themselves for a failed relationship. What they don’t know is that, if God had not put an end to that relationship, they might still be going down a wrong path.
