Somewhere Beautiful

A little bit about relationships…Let go of those who are already gone.  The sad truth is that there are some people who will only be there for you as long as you have something they need.  When you no longer serve a purpose to them, they will leave.  The good news is, if you tough it out, you’ll eventually weed these people out of your life and be left with some great people you can count on.  We rarely lose friends and lovers, we just gradually figure out who our real ones are.  So when people walk away from you, let them go.   Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you.  Now that doesn’t mean they are bad people; it just means that their part in your story is over.  When you decide to let go, your heart and mind will eventually end up somewhere beautiful.

  1. Such a great post. This definitely spoke to me. It is hard to let people go even when they leave, especially if they have been a part of your life for a long time. Losing a close friend is like going through a divorce. But I definitely agree that when they choose to go, let them go.

  2. You continue to uplift me with your words of wisdom. I thank God for you because he knows I’ve been through some challenging times lately but, he is making breakthroughs in my life & uplifting me in ways I couldn’t fathom. Keep the wisdom flowing, its been greatly beneficial for me. God bless!

  3. So true…but what about when it’s a family member. Should the same rules apply or are we obligated to deal with family differently?

    1. Often times when people leave you it’s by their choice. They are making a conscious effort to stop contributing to your relationship. You can’t control anyone else’s actions or reactions for that matter. But you can control your own. God commands us to forgive and if you do so being mindful not to harbor anger toward your family member, that’s the extent of your responsibility. God wants us to live with peace of mind and joy in our hearts and He will ensure this even if it doesn’t look like it!

  4. Love the outfit and love this post even more! I am in the process of letting go of old friends…accepting that our time has come to a close. Now, I have the opportunity to welcome in all of the new people God is allowing me to meet! Feeling blessed!

  5. Thank you for those words – it’s just what I needed to hear this morning. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you!!! I’ve been struggling somewhat to do just that, and I literally felt something move in me when I read those words. I will write them on my mirror as a daily reminder to myself. Thanks again. Be blessed.
